Illinois State Senate District 44 issued the following announcement on Oct. 4.
The Illinois Senate Republican Caucus will once again honor the legacy of Illinois veterans this Veterans Day with its “Wall of Honor” that will be displayed in Illinois State Capitol Rotunda.
“We are encouraging everyone across the state to submit a photograph and written story of any veteran to be displayed on the Veterans Day ‘Wall of Honor’ in the Capitol Rotunda from November 4 to November 15,” said state Sen. Bill Brady (R-Bloomington).
Families are asked to submit photos and written stories (max: 250 words) along with the following information: name, military branch (Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, National Guard, Navy) and conflict served (Afghanistan, Iraq, September 11, Gulf War, Vietnam, Korea, WWII, WWI, Peacetime, other). Military photos are preferred, but not necessary.
Please email submissions to veteransday@sgop.ilga.gov by Nov. 3. Submissions can also be mailed to Veterans Day Wall, 309 G Statehouse, Springfield, IL 62706.
