Help is on the way, Rep. Davidsmeyer tells flooding victims in 100th District

Flood(1000)

Illinois state Rep. C. D. Davidsmeyer (R-Jacksonville) wants residents of his 100th District impacted by recent heavy flooding to know that the state and U.S. Small Business Association (SBA) are offering loans for those affected in 2019.

“The SBA has approved Illinois’ request for recovery loans for those who experienced flooding in Jersey County,” Davidsmeyer recently said in a press release. “Contiguous counties in my legislative district also qualify for flood-relief recovery loans. If you live or have a business in Jersey, Calhoun, Greene or Madison counties and you experienced damages and losses from flooding, then you may qualify for a low-interest loan.”

While the district's outreach center has been set up at the QEM Fire House at Elsah Road in Grafton, Temporary Disaster Loan Outreach Centers (DLOC) have also been set up across the region. Davidsmeyer says that constituents who cannot visit any of the outreach centers while operations are conducted can contact his office for assistance.

“My office is available to help those who cannot make it to the regional outreach center this week,” he said. “Please contact my Jerseyville office at 618-639-2071 or my Jacksonville office at 217-243-6221 if you need help completing your loan forms.”

Deadlines for filing include a Jan. 13 date for physical property damage and an Aug. 14 filing deadline for economic injury applications. Earlier this summer, Davidsmeyer took a tour of the impacted region and later documented elements of his trip on Facebook.

“Spent the day touring the flooding and trying to make sure people get what they need to get through this disaster,” he posted at the time. “The volunteers, federal and state agencies, the National Guard and the Coast Guard are here to help.”

Now in his seventh year in Springfield, Davidsmeyer sits on the House’s Appropriations-General Service, Appropriations-Human Services, Business Occupational Licenses, Cities & Villages, and Biotechnology committees.

Davidsmeyer's 100th District includes all or parts of Morgan, Calhoun, Greene, Jersey, Macoupin, Madison, Pike and Scott counties.
