Report: Pleasant Plains School District spent $11,269 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Pleasant Plains Community Unit School District 8 was up 12.3 percent from five years ago, according to the Sangamon Sun analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Sangamon County school district spent $10,038 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $11,269 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 1,298 to 1,257 students over the same period.

Pleasant Plains's spending in 2019-20 was 22.2 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
