Village of Greenview Village Board met April 4.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

The Greenview Village Board met for a regular scheduled board meeting. President Curry called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. and all present participated in the pledge of allegiance. The roll call indicated that Trustees Sarah Heavner, Patrick Feagans, Brandon Wellhausen, Norman Hofmann, and Liz Soldwedel were present. Other village personnel present were John Holt, and Village Clerk Monica Brumm.

Public Participation:

No Public Participation

William Eddings gave the Zoning Hearing recommendations to change parcel #07-23-226-001 owned by Farmers Grain and Coal Company to zone from residential to commercial. A motion was made by Trustee Wellhausen and seconded by Trustee Heavner to accept the recommendation to rezone the parcel to commercial. All present in favor voted aye, motion passed.

Trey Castles gave the maintenance report for March. Discussion was had on charges for rock. A motion was made by Trustee Feagans and seconded by Trustee Hofmann to approve the maintenance report. All present voted aye. Report filed into record.

John Holt gave the police report for March. A motion was made by Trustee Hofmann and seconded by Trustee Soldwedel to approve the police report. All present voted aye. Report filed into record.

The minutes from the March 21st, 2022, board meeting was reviewed by each board member. A motion made by Trustee Feagans and seconded by Trustee Soldwedel to approve the minutes. Minutes approved and filed into record.

Income/Expense/Bill Report Each board member reviewed the bills. Approval of the income/expense report was roll called, all present in favor voted aye. Filed into record.

Old Business-

  •  Discussion was had on the proposed shipping container ordinance.
  • Discussion was had on hiring of new police officer
New Business-

  •  Discussion was had on the contract from Hutchinson Engineering for the new well project.
  • A motion was made by Trustee Feagans and seconded by Trustee Hofmann to forgive the land purchase that the Water Fund owed the General Fund. Motion was roll called, all in present in favor voted aye.  Motion passed.
Committee Reports:

Trustee Feagans:  Gave water report

Trustee Heavner: Volunteer Park Committee will be meeting next week, and they have also received a $200 donation from Taapers.

  • Trustee Hofmann: New cell phones are in. Still waiting on a call from IML for the budget.
  • Trustee Soldwedel: Gave the reminder about the budget.
  • Trustee Wellhausen: Nothing
  • President:  Discussion was had regarding phone call from Don Taul with Woodard & Curran regarding Federal Earmark money applications that needed to be turned in by Thursday. Also the employees went around a marked a map for streets that need repairs.
  • Clerk:  Advised board there was a seminar for clerks on April 21 & 22 that would be beneficial. A motion was made by Trustee Feagans and seconded by Trustee Wellhausen to approve the $50 fee and hotel for the night. Motion was roll called all present in favor voted aye. Motion passed.
  • Treasurer: Gave update on accounts and had discussion on purchase of new mower.
  • Meeting adjourned at 8:50 pm.
At the conclusion of all business, the announcement of the next meeting was made. The next meeting will be held on Monday April 18th, 2022, at 7:00 pm.
