The 31st Annual Fallen Firefighters Memorial Ceremony was held in Springfield, where tribute was paid to the Illinois firefighters who have given their lives in the line of duty. The bravery and sacrifice of these individuals were honored, ensuring that their memories will never be forgotten.
Each year, at the Illinois Firefighter Memorial, those who have made the supreme sacrifice are remembered. The Annual Illinois Fallen Firefighter Memorial and Firefighter Medal of Honor Awards Ceremony takes place every year in early May.
The Office of the Illinois State Fire Marshal, in collaboration with the Secretary of State’s office and a nationally recognized sculptor, has developed a memorial that is a source of pride for the fire service of Illinois. Representative Coffey proudly stood next to this memorial statue that honors our fallen firefighters.
