Webster secures win over Illinois College with second-half goals

Webster scored two second-half goals to secure a 2-0 victory over Illinois College in a non-conference men's soccer match held Thursday at World Wide Technology Soccer Park in Fenton, Missouri.

The loss brought Illinois College's record to 4-2-0 for the season, while Webster improved to 3-2-0.

After a scoreless first half, Scott Price netted the first goal for Webster at the 78:53 mark. The Gorlocks extended their lead nearly two minutes later with a goal from Noah Thomas.

Webster outshot Illinois College 18-9 during the match. Oscar Liogon Arenas led the Blueboy offense with five shots. Toby Ybarra, Jives Efemini, and Reed Rogers each contributed one shot.

Daniel Happach played the entire match as goalkeeper for Illinois College, recording four saves.

Illinois College will next face Millikin at England Stadium on Wednesday. The kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
