Anthony Flores Head Cross Country Coach/Assistant Track & Field Coach | Illinois College Athletics Website
JACKSONVILLE, Ill. - Anthony Flores has been appointed as the head coach for both the men's and women's cross country teams at Illinois College. The announcement was made by the college's athletic department.
Flores has previously served as a part-time assistant track and field throws coach and a TRIO academic coach at Illinois College since 2022. His responsibilities included overseeing strength and conditioning training, scheduling practices, managing meetings, and handling the team's social media accounts.
In response to his new role, Flores expressed gratitude: "I want to say thank you to Illinois College's Director of Athletics, Meghan Roman, and Illinois College itself for this tremendous opportunity. I am truly grateful for the chance to lead the men & women's cross-country teams as the head coach while still being able to coach the throwing events. I am excited to contribute to the growth and success of the athletes, and I am committed to fostering a culture of hard work, dedication, and unity. Together, we'll strive for greatness and create lasting memories on and off the track."
Flores holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with a concentration in Sports Management from Illinois College. He furthered his education with a Master of Arts in Sports Management from Cal State University of Long Beach. During his tenure at Illinois College, he has achieved significant accomplishments including leading student-athletes to break three school records, securing three individual MWC champion titles, and guiding eight student-athletes to All-Conference honors.
