Illinois College, known as the Blueboys, completed their regular season with a record of 23-4. They claimed the Midwest Conference regular season title with a 13-3 record and secured their spot in the tournament by sweeping Ripon and Grinnell during the conference tournament over the weekend.
Dubuque's Spartans have an overall record of 21-6 and finished their American Rivers Conference run with an 11-5 slate. They earned an at-large bid following their advancement to the conference tournament semifinals.
This marks Illinois College's second consecutive appearance in the NCAA tournament and their third in program history. In last year's tournament, they were defeated by Wheaton, with a final score of 79-66 in the opening round.
