The Illinois College men's basketball team secured a decisive victory over Lawrence University, winning 90-47 in a Midwest Conference game at Alexander Gymnasium in Appleton, Wisconsin. The Blueboys led from the start and maintained control throughout the match.

This win improved Illinois College's record to 19-3 overall and 11-2 in conference play. Meanwhile, Lawrence University's Vikings fell to 5-17 overall and 3-10 in the conference. With this victory and Grinnell's loss at Lake Forest, Illinois College regained sole possession of first place in the conference standings. The team is set to face Grinnell on Wednesday.

Matt Thompson was a standout player for Illinois College, scoring 22 points off the bench. Buzz Ritzel contributed with 19 points, with both players successfully making four three-point shots each. Nestor Daboin led the team with nine rebounds and added four blocks. Jake Mazrimas and Jahkeis Tippett scored nine points each, while Marcus Coleman added eight points from the bench.

Illinois College dominated almost the entire game, leading for all but the first minute and eight seconds of play. They achieved their largest lead of 43 points towards the end of the game. All nineteen players on the Blueboys' roster participated in at least three minutes of action during this match.

The Blueboys will continue their series of away games with an upcoming matchup against Grinnell on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m., where they will compete as league leaders.
