Illinois College secured a significant victory against Beloit in a Midwest Conference basketball game on Wednesday at Sherman Gymnasium. The Blueboys emerged victorious with an 80-67 win, maintaining their unbeaten record in the conference.

The triumph advanced Illinois College to a 13-1 overall record and 5-0 in the conference standings. Meanwhile, Beloit now holds a 10-3 overall record and is 4-1 in the conference.

Key contributors for Illinois College included Jake Mazrimas and Buzz Ritzel, each scoring 22 points. Mazrimas also contributed eight rebounds. Jahkeis Tippett added 11 points, while Austin Robinson provided support off the bench with ten points and led the team with six assists.

The game was closely contested during the first half, with Illinois College holding a narrow 36-35 lead at halftime. The second half remained competitive until Illinois College expanded their lead by outscoring Beloit 30-19 in the final minutes of play.

Illinois College will face Ripon next on Saturday at Sherman Gymnasium for another Midwest Conference matchup scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
