Auditorium Stage Rigging
The stage rigging has been chained up and made safe for performances and district use. The video screen and main curtain are functional but all of the other components have been secured in place. Grand Stage is creating a report with repair/replacement recommendations to bring the riggings into compliance.
GIS Playground
One section of equipment is non-functional due to manufacturing error. The materials were received incomplete and a new shipment date of October 28, 2024 is expected. The welding work on the inversion climber is on hold awaiting a response from their subcontractor. That equipment has be taped off and made safe for kids to use the rest of the playground.
CES Playground
All of the replacement pieces except the new bridge fall into the above category. The replacement bridge has a delayed shipment date of October 28, 2024. Steve Rembusch, Principal, Jon Renken (R.D. Lawrence) and Mike Dobbs conducted a site visit of the new playground on September 30, 2024. Some safety concerns were identified on the spiral slide and the lily pad components. Mr. Renken took photos of the areas and agreed to speak with the manufacturers and make the repairs. The playground has been made safe for kids to play around until the pieces can be installed.
GHS Track Replacement
The first coat of the new surface has been applied to the runways and high jump areas with the final coat scheduled for 10/8/2024. The soccer game that is scheduled for 10/8/2024 should not be affected and can commence as scheduled. The layout work for the exchange zones will be done on the 8 th as well. The first coat of the new surface in the exchange zones and the rest of the oval are scheduled to begin on October 9, 2024.
GHS- Roof Replacement (Phase III)
The project is complete. Henson Robinson will be onsite this Saturday to remove the remaining materials from the roof. The punch list walk through is scheduled for the week of October 14, 2024. With the completion of this phase, the entire roof has been replaced and carries a 30 year warranty.
CES Roof Replacement
The project is 95% complete. The metal flashing is scheduled to be installed the week of October 7, 2024, 2024. Some asphalt damage occurred when materials were being hoisted onto the roof. A portion of the damage has been repaired but not to the districts satisfaction. We are currently having conversations with Top Quality roofing on adequate repairs.
GMS Press box
The press box project is complete with the exception of the logo. The logo is expected to be installed the week of October 7, 2024.
CES HVAC Upgrade
The project was awarded to R.D. Lawrence. A pre Bid meeting was held on September 26, 2024. There was discussion of installing the gymnasium duck work over winter break. The contractor will get back with us on the feasibility of doing so. The exterior work is tentatively scheduled to begin in the February-March time frame so once school is out in May they can transition right into the interior portion of the project. The project will be completed in two phases. Phase 1 will be putting in the Geo Thermal well field west of the building and a building addition to house the new Geo Thermal Equipment. Phase two will include installing the classroom heating/cooling cassettes along with new LED lighting and ceilings.
GHS Auditorium Sound Upgrade
One bid was received from Pearl Technologies out of Peoria Heights, Illinois. The project will be presented at the October 2024 board meeting for approval.
