Rep. Nikki Budzinski discusses veterans' welfare and public education initiatives

Rep. Nikki Budzinski, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing Illinois' 13th district since 2023, shared several updates through her social media platform. The congresswoman, born in Peoria, Illinois, and currently residing in Springfield, has a background in education from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.

On February 12, 2025, Rep. Budzinski highlighted her commitment to veterans' welfare by stating: "Often veterans themselves, VA employees work tirelessly to ensure those who served can access the benefits and care they need. My meeting with @AFGENational today underscored how critical it is to protect our veterans and safeguard the services they rely on."

Later that day, she expressed her support for public education with a post saying: "I'm joining educators, parents and students taking a stand for public schools! Every child should have access to a good education, no matter where they live or how much money their family has."

On February 13, 2025, Rep. Budzinski announced her new role within the Subcommittee on General Farm Commodities: "I'm excited to work alongside @RepDavids as Vice Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on General Farm Commodities, Risk Management & Credit! I look forward to advocating for risk management policy that reflects the needs of the hardworking farmers in Central and Southern Illinois."
