Rep. Nikki Budzinski, a U.S. Congress member representing Illinois' 13th district, shared her thoughts on significant issues through a series of tweets dated February 15, 2025. The topics ranged from recognizing historical achievements to expressing concerns over recent political statements and administrative actions.
On February 15, 2025, Rep. Budzinski highlighted the achievements of Justice Lisa Holder White: "Hailing from Decatur, Justice Lisa Holder White is a true trailblazer: the first Black woman to serve on the Illinois Supreme Court! #BlackHistoryMonth".
Later that day, she expressed concern over remarks made by former President Trump: "An American president suggesting the forcible removal and permanent displacement of 2 million people is deeply concerning. This could endanger U.S. troops and fuel terrorism. I’ve sent a letter to President Trump urging him to retract these statements."
In another post on February 15, Rep. Budzinski addressed staffing changes within the Department of Veterans Affairs: "This week, the Secretary of the VA fired more than 1,000 employees, including disabled veterans & military spouses. I'm concerned this will mean even longer wait times for our veterans. I've sent a letter to Secretary Collins demanding answers on how this could impact service."
