Drake Stuart, a senior linebacker at Illinois College, has been recognized as the Midwest Conference Defensive Performer of the Week. The announcement was made by the conference on Monday.
Stuart played a key role in Illinois College's recent 31-0 win over Ripon. During the game, he recorded seven tackles, including one for a loss and one sack. He also forced a fumble, intercepted a pass, and broke up another pass. His performance helped the team achieve its second shutout in four games and limited Ripon to 122 total yards.
Illinois College will conclude its home schedule for the 2025 season with a game against Grinnell on Saturday. The matchup will also serve as Senior Day, with kickoff scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
