Illinois College Esports teams recorded significant victories on October 28, securing wins in both Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Valorant competitions.

In the NECC Super Smash Bros. Ultimate match, Illinois College defeated Roosevelt University with a 2–0 sweep. The team won Game 1 by a score of 4–0 and followed up with a 6–0 result in Game 2. Julian Luaders led the team with seven knockouts and a K/F ratio of 3.50. Teammates Alex Rhoades, Devin Ussery, and Raiden Sedelmeier each posted K/F ratios of 1.67. The team achieved these results without using one of their top players, Jake.

Alex Rhoades became only the third player in program history to maintain a career K/F ratio above 1.0, joining Jake and Luaders. Luaders improved his own career mark to a perfect 2.0, which is now the highest in team history.

In Valorant play against Gustavus Adolphus College for the MVEC league, Illinois College won both maps: Corrode (13–8) and Bind (13–10). Dwight Duijneveld led with 63 kills, a KDA of 2.63, and an ACS of 415. Fray Moulton contributed 43 kills with a KDA of 2.04, while Jonest Eisfelder added 31 kills and secured seven first bloods.

With this win, Illinois College moves to a season record of 5–2 and is likely to secure the fourth seed for the upcoming MVEC Playoffs. They are projected to face Morningside University in the opening round at Wartburg on November 8.

The Rocket League team from Illinois College has also qualified for the MVEC Rocket League Championships as the fifth seed and will compete against the University of Jamestown on November 9.

Looking ahead, the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate team will participate in the Show Me Your Moves LAN event at the University of Illinois on November 15, while the Valorant team will play Missouri Valley College on November 3 at 8:00 p.m.
