Village of Sherman Board of Trustees met April 17.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

Village Board In Attendance:

Trevor J. Clatfelter, President; Bret Hahn, Trustee; Pam Gray, Trustee; Brian Long, Trustee; Kim Rockford, Trustee; Kevin Schultz, Trustee.

Jay Timm, Trustee had an excused absence.

Officials In Attendance:

Michael Stratton, Village Administrator; Jeremy Stuenkel, Treasurer; Don Craven, Corporate Counsel; Craig Bangert, Chief of Police, Chris Fulcher, Deputy Chief of Police, Sean Newton, Public Works Director; Bruce Beal, Public Works Employee, Michael Moos, EMA Director; Ryan Kieth, Public Relations Director.

Alisha Armenta, Interpreter.

Public In Attendance:

Sandy & Chris Walden, John Miller, Ms Jenkins, Josh Carter.

Opening:

1. Roll Call. President Clatfelter requested Acting Village Clerk Stratton to conduct roll call of the Village Board of Trustees. All members present except Jay Timm who had an excused absence. Quorum was present.

2. Pledge of Allegiance. Ms Jenkins led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance.

3. Set Agenda. President Clatfelter asked the Board for non-action items to be added to the agenda. No one requested additions to the agenda. President Clatfelter entertained a motion of the Board to set the agenda. Motion by Trustee Rockford, seconded by Trustee Long. Voice Vote with the Ayes having it (5/0). Motion passed.

Clerk’s Report:

1. Presentation of Minutes of April 10, 2018 Regular Board Meeting. Minutes of the Sherman Village Board of Trustees were presented for approval. Motion to Approve was made by Trustee Gray, seconded by Trustee Long. Roll Call Vote Ayes having it (5/0). Motion Passed.

2. Presentation of Executive Session Minutes of April 10, 2018 for Approval. Minutes of closed session of the Sherman Village Board of Trustees of April 10, 2018 was presented for approval. Motion to Approve was made by Trustee Rockford, seconded by Trustee Hahn. Voice Vote with Ayes having it (5/0). Motion Passed.

3. Presentation of Bills for Authorization for Payment. President Clatfelter asked if there were any questions regarding the bills. Motion to Authorize payment of bills as presented by Trustee Schultz, seconded by Trustee Hahn. Roll Call Vote with Ayes having it (5/0). Motion Passed.

Treasurer’s Report. No Treasurer’s Report.

Engineering Report. No Engineering Report.

Legal Report. No Legal Report.

Village Administrator & Economic Development Report. No Report.

President’s Report.

1. FY19 Budget and Appropriation Ordinance. President Clatfelter asked if there were any further questions about the tentative budget. No question. Motion to approve the FY19 Budget and Appropriation Ordinance by Trustee Gray, seconded by Trustee Rockford. Roll Call Vote with Ayes having it (5/0). Motion Passed.

Committee/Department Reports. No Committee Reports.

Sherman Police Department Report. No Police Report

Emergency Management Agency Report. No EMA Report

Department Of Public Works Report. No Public Works Report.

New Business:

President Clatfelter noted there was no New Business before the Village Board.

Old Business:

President Clatfelter reminded the Board of the upcoming Garage Sales, Friday and Saturday April 27-28 and Clean Up Day Saturday May 5 8am to 11am at Waldrop Park.

Civic Organizations:

President Clatfelter noted there was no Civic Organization to present before the Village Board.

Public Comment.

President Clatfelter recognized Mr. John Miller to present before the Board.

Mr. John Miller addressed the Board about the growth of the Village and asked why the Village Clerk position was not in the Budget.

Ms. Sandra Walden addressed the Board and asked if the Parks & Recreation Committee has meet to discuss the plans for the new playground in the park.

Executive Session.

President Clatfelter noted no need for executive session.

President Clatfetler addressed the Board and read two thank you letters. One from Casey Tuttle for all the Board’s support. Second from the Sunrise Rotary Club in presentation before their group to learn more about Willie the Frog in Sherman, IL.

Adjournment.

President Clatfelter noted there was no further matters to come before the Board and entertained a motion to adjourn the public meeting. Motion by Trustee Schultz, seconded by Trustee Long. Voice Vote with Ayes having it (5/0). Motion Passed. Public Meeting was adjourned at 6:16 pm.
