State Representative Wayne Rosenthal has expressed support for legislation aimed at preserving the small-town way of life. His legislative priorities include opposing tax increases and wasteful spending, advocating for veterans and first responders, fostering job creation, and promoting economic growth. Rosenthal emphasizes the importance of maintaining the values held by rural Illinois communities.
Rosenthal has taken a firm stance against high taxes and what he considers wasteful spending, which he argues drive families out of Illinois in search of better opportunities. He has opposed various tax hikes proposed in Springfield and works to ensure that families remain in the state.
"High taxes and wasteful spending force families to leave Illinois for better opportunities," Rosenthal stated. He has specifically fought against government benefits being extended to undocumented immigrants.
In his efforts to protect veterans and first responders, Rosenthal draws on his experience as a retired Brigadier General with over 3,000 hours in the F-4 Phantom. He is a graduate of the United States Air Force Fighter Weapons Instructor Course and advocates for numerous bills designed to honor military families and first responders.
Rosenthal also focuses on job creation and economic growth, noting that many job creators are leaving Illinois due to high taxes, excessive regulations, and corruption. "Wayne knows it takes good-paying jobs, safe communities, and lower taxes to keep Illinois families together after college and in retirement," according to his statement.
The specific bills supported by Rosenthal include HB1459, HB1582, HB4187, HB2986, HR24, HB4716 related to stopping tax hikes; HB1581, HB2288, HB2856, HB3538, HB4128, HB4270 related to protecting veterans and first responders; as well as SB76, HB1218, HB2202, HB3203, HB3209 among others focused on job creation.
