The Illinois College Clay Target Team will host a recruitment event on Saturday, October 19, starting at 10:00 a.m. The event is free for prospective athletes and will begin with check-in at 10:00 a.m. on the Illinois College campus located at 1101 W College Ave.
The team shoot will start at 1:00 p.m. and will feature trap shooting and sporting clays at the Sportsman's Club in Jacksonville.
Now in its second season as part of the IC Athletic Department, the co-ed clay target team competes in events such as trap, sporting clays, and five stand. The program is affiliated with the Scholastic Clay Target Program and takes part in ACUI Clay Target events.
"The Recruiting Invitational is a chance for prospective student-athletes to meet coaches and learn more about the program," according to an announcement from the college. The event includes trap shooting, sporting clays, and an Annie Oakley event. Shells and clays will be provided.
