JACKSONVILLE, Ill. - Maxwell Schweitzer has been appointed as the new assistant Track & Field coach at Illinois College. Before joining Illinois College, Schweitzer volunteered with the Men's and Women's track teams at Illinois State University (ISU) and co-directed the McHenry Vault Fest in 2023.

Expressing his enthusiasm for the new role, Schweitzer stated, "I want to thank the athletic department and the entire search committee for providing this opportunity here at IC. I look forward to meeting and working with the coaching staff and student-athletes. I am very excited to get started."

Schweitzer was an active member of ISU's track & field team for four years, competing in the Missouri Valley Conference. He achieved notable success as the 2022 MVC Outdoor runner-up in pole vaulting. Additionally, he holds significant positions in ISU's record books: seventh All-Time in Indoor Pole Vault and ninth All-Time in Outdoor Pole Vault. His accomplishments include being a four-time recipient of All-MVC honor roll recognition.

In 2022, Schweitzer graduated from ISU with a bachelor's degree in Kinesiology and Coaching. He also possesses a USATF Level 1 Coaching Certification.
