The Illinois College men's and women's track and field teams participated in the Augustana Midwest Twilight Qualifier at the Austin E. Knowlton Outdoor Athletic Complex in Rock Island, Illinois.
Junior Hannah Grove emerged as the top performer for Illinois College by securing fourth place in the open javelin with a throw measuring 28.56 meters. Senior Paige Nowak achieved fifth place in the pole vault event, clearing a height of 3.29 meters. Senior Sydney Kuper finished 21st in the open hammer throw with a mark of 45.53 meters.
In the men's events, junior Jackson Lee competed and placed 12th in the open pole vault, clearing a height of 4.45 meters.
Looking ahead to tomorrow's session, five more athletes from Illinois College are set to compete. Will Detmer will run in the 800 meters, while Dylan Doss will participate in both the long jump and 200-meter events. Adam Hernandez is scheduled to compete in both the 110 and 400-meter hurdles, and Deon Rodgers will take part in the discus event. Representing the Lady Blues, Deja Anderson will compete in the long jump.
