On October 10, 2024, an appeal was made to military veterans and their families in Illinois to voice their needs and concerns. The call comes from a member of the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee, who also serves as the State Representative for the 95th District.
The representative expressed gratitude on behalf of both the district and the state for the sacrifices made by veterans. "Thank you for your service to our country," they stated. "Our community is grateful for your sacrifice in defense of our freedoms."
Emphasizing the importance of understanding what services are most needed by veterans in Illinois, they urged those with military backgrounds and their families to share their thoughts. "It is vital I hear from military veterans and their families about what services are most needed by veterans in our state," they explained.
Veterans were encouraged to communicate openly about their needs. "Please take a minute to tell me what’s on your mind and what more the State of Illinois can do to support you," concluded the representative.
