The Illinois College esports team faced a challenging start to their season in the University Athletic League opener, facing off against Team Ambition Ragnarök. The match concluded with Illinois College suffering a 0-2 defeat.
In Game 1, Kevin "SageWabe" Tran played Caitlyn and Tristan "Loneforce" Fissette took on Karma, giving IC an early advantage. However, mid-game missteps allowed Ambition Ragnarök to gain control and secure the first win in the best-of-three series.
Game 2 saw IC with a revised strategy. Peter "255" Foreman took on Swain, Isaiah "Frxg" Johnson selected Bel'Veth, and Chase "Chxser" Brown chose Ornn. Despite these changes, Ambition Ragnarök maintained dominance from the outset and carried their lead through to victory.
