The Illinois College E-Sports team faced Miami University (OH) in the second round of the MEC (UCL) SSBU playoffs, resulting in a 2-0 loss. This defeat follows their victory over Campbellsville University and places them in the Losers' bracket due to the double-elimination format.

Despite the overall loss, Jake Petrovich delivered a notable performance by taking six stocks while losing only three. His efforts included defeating a highly ranked Falco player after Julian Luaders was taken down by a "Kirby." Luaders contributed with three stocks taken, while Matthew Hallanger and Theodore Biela each secured two stocks.

Petrovich's strong showing came at critical moments for Illinois College. Other players had varying results against Miami University competitors on October 30, 2024. Daniel Scott did not manage to take any stocks during his match.

The team's journey continues as they prepare to face either Simpson or Radford in the Losers' round next Wednesday, November 6th, at 7:00 pm.
