FOIA Request to Logan County Sheriff's Office Regarding Immigration Detainer Records Issued by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency on January 29, 2025.
In our continuous efforts to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Sangamon Sun have sent a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the Logan County Sheriff's Office in Illinois. The request, dated January 29, 2025, seeks documents and/or records showing persons committed to county jails that have had an Immigration Detainer issued by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency lodged against them since January 29, 2024.
As a media organization, we are involved in gathering and reporting news to the public.
