The Illinois College Lady Blues volleyball team was defeated by Cornell College in a conference match on Friday at the Small Athletic and Wellness Center in Mt. Vernon, Iowa. Cornell secured a 3-0 victory, winning the sets 25-21, 25-11, and 25-18.
With this result, Illinois College’s overall record moves to 9-19 and 4-2 in Midwest Conference play. Cornell improves to 14-10 overall and remains undefeated in conference action with a 6-0 record.
Delani Klaas led the Lady Blues with six kills, while Riley Drake added four. On defense, Mady Salisbury recorded eight digs and three aces. Reagan Oster contributed seven digs, and Laura Kaiser made five block assists at the net. Summer Brandis provided ten assists along with seven digs.
The Lady Blues will continue their conference road schedule with a match against Beloit College tomorrow at 1:00 p.m.
