Illinois College Rocket League team secures playoff berth with comeback win over St. Ambrose JV

The Illinois College Rocket League team secured a playoff spot after defeating St. Ambrose JV 4–2 in their final NECC regular season match on Tuesday night in Jacksonville, Illinois.

After the teams split the first two games and Illinois College narrowly lost Game 3, the Blueboys won three consecutive games to clinch the series. The scores for Games 4 through 6 were 4–1, 2–1, and 3–2.

Glenn Conway led the team with seven goals and four assists. Dwight Duijneveld contributed four goals, five assists, and a team-high eight saves. Lucas Barry added five goals and seven saves.

With this victory, Illinois College improved its NECC record to 5–2 and secured the #3 seed for the upcoming playoffs. The result means that Illinois College will have three teams participating in NECC postseason competition.

The Rocket League team will next compete at the MVEC Conference tournament in Waverly, Iowa starting Saturday, November 8th.
