St. John's Hospital Springfield Illinois issued the following announcement on Jan. 28.
We have partnered with the Illinois Emergency Management Agency and the American Lung Association in Illinois to distribute 300 free radon detection kits to members of the central Illinois community. To receive your free kit, stop by the lobbies of HSHS St. John’s Hospital main lobby, pavilion and children’s hospital from 9:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., today through Thursday while supplies last.
Radon is the number one cause of lung cancer among non-smokers and claims more than 21,000 lives every year. These three organizations want to make sure your home is safe by providing you with the kit you need to test it.
