The Illinois College men's soccer team faced a challenging match against Simpson College on Friday night in Indianola, Iowa. The Blueboys ended the game with a 2-1 loss, bringing their overall record to 2-2 for the season.

Santiago Martinez made an impact shortly after entering the game from the bench in the 17th minute. Just three minutes later, he scored his first goal of the season, giving the Blueboys an early lead of 1-0.

Simpson College managed to equalize in the 36th minute, leaving both teams tied at halftime. The decisive moment came in the 53rd minute when Simpson College took a 2-1 lead. Despite two corner kick opportunities in the final minutes, Illinois College could not convert them into goals.

Looking ahead, the Blueboys are set to host UHSP's Eutectics this Sunday, September 10, at England Stadium at 3:30 p.m.
