Yesterday, graduates from the University of Illinois visited Representative Coffey for a meet and greet. This event provided an opportunity for these recent graduates to discuss their ambitions and gain insight into legislative issues that Rep. Coffey is addressing to benefit the State of Illinois. During their visit, they expressed interest in understanding the responsibilities of a State Representative and engaged with thoughtful questions. Rep. Coffey expressed appreciation for their visit and extended his best wishes for their future endeavors.
In addition to meeting with graduates, Rep. Coffey also toured the Brookens Library at the University of Illinois Springfield. He thanked Pattie Piotrowski and her colleagues for providing a tour of the library facilities, highlighting their exceptional services which cater to students seeking both collaborative workspaces and quiet study areas. Rep. Coffey noted the significant growth of Brookens Library over time.
Brookens Library holds historical significance as it was the first permanent building on campus, dedicated to the University in 1976. Currently, it houses more than 300,000 physical books, over 200,000 ebooks, and features over 2,000 films.
