Today marks National STEAM Day, an occasion dedicated to promoting the study of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics among young learners. The aim is to inspire children to explore these fields and consider potential career paths as they progress in their education.

Additionally, Family Literacy Day is observed annually on November 1st. Established by Congress in 1994 through Joint Resolution 413, this day emphasizes the importance of family literacy in developing children's communication skills. It highlights that learning extends beyond school and occurs at home as well. Parents are encouraged to engage with their children through activities like drawing, writing, reading, singing, and talking to enhance literacy skills and strengthen family bonds.

State Representative Mike Coffey supports early education and emphasizes the benefits of acquiring literacy skills at a young age. "It’s important children learn literacy skills at home with their parents and siblings so they achieve a high level of learning," said Coffey. "Families can get creative with ideas and lessons to make learning fun at home with their children, plus it creates a strong family bond."
