The Illinois College women's swimming team faced a narrow defeat against Beloit with a score of 125-92 in a dual meet held at the Coultas Natatorium on Saturday. The event also marked Senior Day, during which the team honored its seniors.
Lauren Sinclair, one of the seniors recognized, delivered notable performances by winning the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 27.64 seconds and securing second place in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 1:02.37. She also contributed to the team's performance in the 200-yard medley relay, where they finished second with a time of 2:04.93. The relay team included Abby Stevens, Jena Sellers, and fellow senior Abbey Glaser. Glaser additionally placed third in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 1:16.26.
Jena Sellers achieved first place in the 50-yard breaststroke with a time of 34.59 seconds, while Emma Dunsworth won the 100-yard backstroke clocking in at 1:11.81.
Looking ahead, the Lady Blues will take a break for the holidays and are scheduled to return to competition on January 17th when they visit Illinois Wesleyan for another dual meet starting at 6:00 p.m.
