The Illinois College men's swimming team celebrated Senior Day with a strong performance against Beloit, winning 159-48 at the Coultas Natatorium in Jacksonville, Illinois. The meet took place on Saturday, where the team recognized seniors Matthew Billenstein and Cooper Meyer before securing victories in ten events.
The competition began with John Masiliunas, Scottie Nicotra, Eli Eberle, and Nathen Trachta winning the 200-yard medley relay in 1:44.26. The event concluded with Eberle, Scott Sosnowski, Trachta, and Nicotra triumphing in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:35.68.
Scottie Nicotra led individual performances by winning both the 100-yard freestyle (50.99) and the 200-yard freestyle (1:54.73). Eli Eberle also excelled by taking first place in the 100-yard IM (54.88) and the 100-yard backstroke (59.60). In other races, Scott Sosnowski claimed victory in the 50-yard breaststroke with a time of 32.06.
Blaine Gretencord won the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:13.45, while Cade Emerick finished first in the 500-yard freestyle at 5:28.16. Gavin Rasmussen completed the list of Blueboy winners by finishing first in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:01.12.
Illinois College will resume competition after a holiday break on January 17th when they travel to face Illinois Wesleyan at a dual meet scheduled for a start time of 6:00 p.m.
