Illinois College's Haley Garrett has been recognized as the Midwest Conference Women's Track Performer of the Week, according to an announcement made by the league. This marks the second time Garrett has received this accolade in her career.
Garrett, a sophomore from Bement, Illinois, achieved a victory in the 200-meter dash at the Grinnell Invitational last Saturday. She completed the race in 26.32 seconds, contributing to the Lady Blues' second-place finish among 12 teams. Her performance not only topped this season's records within the Midwest Conference but also ranked as the fifth-best time in Illinois College's history.
Looking ahead, Garrett and her team are set to compete again on Saturday when they host the Jim Green Invitational at King Fieldhouse. The event is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m.
