Village of Mechanicsburg Village Board met Aug. 5.

Recognition of Visitors: Austen Etherton was in attendance on behalf of the Township to discuss road and bridge repairs on Griffiths Creek Road. A bid has been received from PH Broughten Inc. for the bridge deck repairs in the amount of $12,650. Austen will cold patch and widen and recommends the repairs be done after harvest season. Menard Electric may need to relocate 1 power pole for road construction but has not returned phone calls for an estimate to date.
Linda Blisset was in attendance to discuss drainage issues in front of her home in Hillcrest subdivision. Phil Weber has stated that drainage issues will be repaired soon and will hopefully alleviate majority of the current drainage problems.
Raylene Grischow, Sangamon County Circuit Court Judge was in attendance to introduce herself as well as explain what her job entails and speak about new programs introduced to the Circuit Court for drug, mental health and offenses committed by veterans. The new programs anticipate rehabilitation among offenders.
Andy Goleman, Sangamon County Auditor was in attendance to introduce himself and explain what the Office of the Sangamon County Auditor does for its citizens.
Engineering Report: Phil Weber- A bid was received from Russ Mendenhall in the amount of $6,800 for repair of drainage issues within the Hillcrest subdivision.
Zoning Report: Dorothy Cole- There has been one permit issued for a house addition.
Police Report: Report reviewed and discussed.
Approval of Minutes: The board approved the July 1st Amended Board Meeting Minutes.

Discussion for adding additional electric sources to the Community Park. Trustee Hohimer has stated that he will look at the current electrical sources to see if additional electric needs to be added or just upgraded.
Board approval for the purchase of new portable radios for the Buffalo/Mechanicsburg Police Department in the amount of $7,936 (Mechanicsburg to pay 2/3 and Buffalo to pay 1/3 a discount of 10% will be applied if paid in full up front or 3 years no interest).
